VIIS collaborated with Swaralayam Arts Forum, Houston, USA and organized a Carnatic classical music competition as part of 14th annual event of Sulochana Pattabhiraman Utsavam. The competition was open for students in age group of 13 to 22 years both Vocal & Instrumental category.
        Each of the budding musicians presented a kruthi along with a brief manodharma within a time limit of 6 minutes. Vidwan Subramanya Kumar, Vidushi Indrani Anantharam and Vidushi N Bharathi presided as judges.
