VIIS hosts “Instructors Program” for Clemson University, June 2022

       Vivekananda Institute of Indian Studies hosted a two week “Instructors Program” for the faculty members from Clemson University and SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM), South Carolina, USA From 8th to 22nd June -2022.
        The objective of the visit of 12 educators was to learn more about service-learning in India. The other important aspect was to get an immersion into Indian culture (art, music, and history), language, and experiential/service-learning/field components.
        The motivated group with a broad spectrum of experiences and multi disciplinary areas such as art, history, biology, physics and so on... enthusiastically participated in the program spread over two weeks interacting with the faculty at VIIS, Mysuru with 8 sessions on wide ranging topics. They also had an introduction into the basics of Kannada Language besides having 4 field visits and 3 outings to places of architectural importance and heritage around Mysuru.
        The faculty also had the opportunity to interact with the Founder, SVYM, the CEO and the leadership team at SVYM to learn about their many projects, partners and development models. The program concluded on 22nd June 2022.
