11th Annual Sulochana Pattabhiram Utsavam - 11th Dec 2019

The initiative of Sulochana Pattabhiraman Utsavam is an offshoot of Swaralayam Arts Forum’s Founder-Director, Ravi Iyer’s vision in paying homage to Smt. Sulochana Pattabhiraman. Smt Sulochana was a musician, musicologist, music critic besides being a multi-faceted mentor to children and adults alike and was an affectionate, caring, sincere and perfectionist person all rolled into one. The commonality between her and Sri. Ravi Iyer was their passion for excellence in everything concerned with children, education, fine arts and music which are reflected in such initiatives. These aspects also brought Swaralayam Arts Forum and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement together to celebrate the “Utsavam” every year.
On the occasion of 11th Annual Sulochana Pattabhiram Utsavam, Vivekananda Institute of Indian Studies (VIIS) a unit of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) Mysuru & Swaralayam Arts Forum, Houston, USA organised a day’s workshop on “Art as a fulfilling career” for 83 students from 20 schools in Mysuru, including Viveka School Of Excellence, Saragur and Viveka Tribal Centre for Learning, Hosahalli, H D Kote.
The art workshop was conducted by renowned Artist & cartoonist Sri. Keshav Venkataraghavan on 11th Dec 2019. Sri. Keshav served in the press daily, The Hindu as a cartoonist for over thirty years and continues to be its editorial consultant. Besides cartoons, he has sketched in significant occasions and has been posting a Krishna daily in social media under the hashtag, #Krishnafortoday since a decade.
