A two week program for 26 pre-med students of University of Minnesota was hosted from Dec 29th 2017 to Jan 11th 2018. The group was led by faculty members by Dr. Emily Smith & Dr. Andrea Westby, faculty members at Univ. of Minnesota. Pre Health Student Resource Center of University of Minnesota has been partnering with VIIS for the last 7 years through this program. The objective of the program is to compare health and public health between India and United states and also understand social influences on health and medicine. Apart from the academic sessions on health care in India, NGO’s role in health care delivery, Bioethics and research to name a few, the students were taken for field visits to public and private hospitals and heritage sites.
