7 students led by Juvia Heuchert, Professor of Psychology and Ms. Lucinda Morgan, Director of International Education were part of Summer Internship program from Allegheny college this year.
During the first two weeks of their stay, students had a classroom experience about Indian culture, contemporary political & economic situation, Health care system in India, Women & Health and the effects of globalisation on health from an Indian perspective. They also visited some of the historical & cultural sites in and around Mysore & North India which helped them to connect on the classroom sessions. Later on students were engaged in internships at Vivekananda Memorial Hospital (VMH) Saragur, Viveka Tribal Center for Learning (VTCL) Hosahalli and Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement (GRAAM) Mysore.
